My first holistic interaction, I, (Sachin Kumar, Founder Of Sattuz) should say, with the “LWT” (Learning while travelling) was regarding the participation of “Sattuz” in their event “Start-Up Nayak” in Kolkata. I just saw an ad on Facebook and applied online. The LWT team was quick to respond and finally, Sattuz business plan was selected for live pitching session in Kolkata on 18th August 2018.
This announcement was made on 16th midnight and on the 17th morning I received the email for participation. Exactly 24hr was available for me to travel from Madhubani (my home town) to Patna and then to Kolkata and present our Sattuz business plan. Now luckily I was able to get tickets on 17th and I reached Kolkata on 18th morning. By 11 am I was there at the event venue and I met some highly energetic people. The event venue was fully occupied and we were getting tough competition. Around 20 plans selected out of more than 80 submitted plans were presented. Participants from different cities and states really pitched some good innovative business plans.
My time slot came and it was the first time to pitch “Sattuz” in front of any crowd. Before starting my presentation I presented a few samples of Sattuz to the judges and then I started my pitch. I was sure of recognition not reward. In fact, before starting my journey I said to my wife that my sole purpose of travelling and going to present Sattuz in Start-Up Nayak event is to let people know about our product and innovation.
Then the result was announced and “Sattuz” was declared winner of Start-Up Nayak 2018 in
Kolkata. I must say that was the turning point for Sattuz team getting recognition and love from
people from outside own state. We are based in Bihar and winning a prize in Kolkata, West Bengal was an achievement for us. Kudos to the whole LWT team and their founder Mr Vishal Kumar for
thinking, creating and executing a completely new concept in Start-Up ecosystem.
Mr Vishal Kumar presented me “Fully Paid Trip To Bangkok” cheque worth Rs.50,000/- and agreed
to co-promote “Sattuz” as energy drink partner in his every subsequent event. This big gesture of
him has really helped me to grow as a brand and also helped to meet some wonderful people. We
also co-participated in the event at IIT Delhi. Next event was “Start-Up Nayak” in Mumbai. Here again, we showcased “Sattuz” and also got offers from Venture Capital firms. The Bangkok trip was again very well planned and executed. We started as strangers on the trip and returned as friends. I personally made some good contacts with people from IITs, IIMs and various colleges.
After returning from Bangkok “Sattuz” was now recognized as a Brand which is creating a segment in itself.
We got good responses from IRCTC, Bihar Udyog Sangh, Bihar Global Fraternity and many such
organizations. “Sattuz” again was selected among winners for “Janhit Jagran” a start-up promotion
campaign by Dainik Jagran Group in collaboration with Government of India. We also received StartUp certificate from Ministry of Commerce and Industry, GOI.
Many more awards and recognition followed after associating with LWT, such as National Human Welfare Council presented me India’s Youth Icon Award 2018 in Nagpur. “Dainik Bhaskar” group covered “Sattuz” full story in their “Monday Motivation Story”. Amity University invited us to present Sattuz Success story to the students in Chief Minister’s Entrepreneur Training Programme.
Success is a journey and I believe if you have the right partner in that journey with you then it
becomes a series of memories and achievements. “Sattuz with LWT” will keep moving ahead in this journey.
